In November 2021, I was invited to deliver a keynote address at the first international conference of Relic Studies. The event was hosted by the Catholic University of Porto, organised by Professor Eduarda Vieira, and contained many fascinating presentations from a range of disciplines.
After working for ten years to help establish Relic Studies as a field in its own right, it was a great pleasure to be part of this. There was an electric sense of enthusiasm for the future development of this new field, and there are a number of new plans in the pipeline for 2022 and beyond!
